Sheboygan County High School Trap Team

2008 Rules and Guidelines

All shooters must be enrolled in school and attending on a regular basis. (Home-Schooled shooters are allowed to participate, but must shoot for the school in the district in which they live.)

Guns and shells may not exceed ATA rules

Ear protection and safety glasses are required.

Unless you are on the line and shooting, all actions must be open.

Keep guns pointed in a safe direction at all times.

No cell phones are allowed on or behind the line. If you have a cell phone, make sure it is turned off while you are on the line shooting.

ZERO TOLERANCE!

When shooting keep the gun pointed down range at all times, especially if you get a broken target or the gun misfires.

To be eligible for trophies, shooters must complete all weeks of league shooting.

To be eligible for individual trophies you must shoot at least 5 different clubs listed in the program and shoot no more than 50 targets per club. Also, you must have posted 4 league scores by the end of shooting on week four. (This is for individual classification.) If you shoot more than once per week, your scores will apply to the first available "shoot ahead" week without a score. Only after all Shoot Ahead scores are completed, will Make-Up scores be allowed.

You may join the league at anytime.  If you join after week three, you will not be eligible for individual trophies and team scores cannot be made-up.

An individual league fee of $20.00 is required before you start shooting.

You may only sign up for one round at a time. You must shoot your first score, than return to registration to sign up for the next round.

Mark the score sheet with your Shooter Number at sign-up, and initial all league scores as soon as you are done shooting each round.  Only scores posted on or before that week can count towards the total team score.

Misfires and leaving the safety on or shooting and missing a broken target is not a problem in this league.  You can shoot it over and it won't count as a loss. (However, at the state shoot in Mayville, it will be a lost target.)

ONLY practice shooting will be allowed during scheduled Practice Shooting. There will be no practice shooting allowed on Saturdays.

In the case of two or more teams being tied with wins and losses at the end of the league, the winner will be determined by head-to-head competition the week those teams shot against each other.  (Reverse score will be used if there is still a tie after head-to-head.) There will be no shoot-offs.

Individual Medal Guidelines for 2008: The entire league will be classified by Lewis Class System.  All ties will be by reverse score until a winner is decided. There will be no shoot-offs.

Shooting for the league ends at 12:00 p.m., or when the last squad is out, the last Saturday of league shooting.

It is the shooter's responsibility to check their posted scores and have any discrepancies of scores on the web page or the printed sheets changed no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. (All scores are final after that time.)

Keep in mind that all of these rules are designed to give as much flexibility as possible. Something may have been overlooked when writing the standards and rules, so bear in mind that a decision may have to be made by the chairman of the league or the Rules Committee at a moments notice to keep the league running and provide prompt answers.
